Danny Manus parlayed his career as a development executive in Hollywood to becoming an in-demand script consultant and founder of No BullScript Consulting, which has been helping writers since 2009.The author of “No BS for Screenwriters: Advice from the Executive Perspective,” now in its 2nd Edition, he has worked with thousands of writers and has consulted on produced projects including Strangerlands starring Nicole Kidman, King of Killers starring Frank Grillo, I, Frankenstein starring Aaron Eckhart, Satanic Panic starring Rebecca Romijn, and In-Lawfully Yours (Netflix) starring Marilu Henner. In 2017, he was a Consulting Producer on the TV pilot Millennial Rules, with Olivia D’Abo.
Danny’s clients have been produced, sold, staffed, signed, optioned, named to the annual Black List, and include finalists or winners of prestigious fellowships and almost every major screenwriting contest including the ABC/Disney Fellowship, Black List’s Women in Film Fellowship, Nicholl Fellowship, Austin Film Festival, PAGE Awards, Final Draft Big Break, Script Pipeline, Shore Scripts, StoryPros, Nashville Film Festival, and many others.
Danny has taught seminars and workshops to groups and at events across the U.S. and Canada at Austin Film Festival, Atlanta Film Festival, Producer’s Guild of America, NY Film Academy, LA Film School, Great American Pitchfest, Kansas City Film Fest, Screenwriting Expo, Florida Writer’s Conference, World Series of Comedy, Santa Fe Screenwriting Conference, Willamette Writers Conference, Las Vegas Writers Conference, Oklahoma Film & Music Conference, The Writers Store, Central Coast Writers Conference, Vancouver Pitchmart, Scriptwriters Network, Sherwood Oaks College, etc. He’s appeared as a guest on BBC Radio, Film Courage, The Inside Pitch with Christopher Lockhart, and numerous popular podcasts including On the Page, Bulletproof Screenwriting, Hollywood Wolfpack, Screenwriting From the Trenches, and Indie Film Hustle.
Danny is also a screenwriter and was the Director of Development for Clifford Werber Productions (A Cinderella Story) where he sold the family adventure project “To Oz” to United Artists, and was instrumental in developing numerous projects including Sydney White starring Amanda Bynes and Just Add Water, starring Dylan Walsh, Jonah Hill, Melissa McCarthy and Danny DeVito.
Danny was previously a Development Consultant for Eclectic Pictures (Lovelace), and the Director of Development for Sandstorm Films (The Forsaken, Prom Night), formerly run by writer/director J.S. Cardone, which had a first look deal at Sony Screen Gems and a development deal with Top Cow Comics. He was instrumental in developing a number of films including the #1 Box Office hit The Covenant, as well as 8MM2 and Sniper 3. Combined, the companies he’s worked for as an executive have had four #1 films at the Box Office. Danny also interned at Columbia Tri-Star in TV Development and at 20th Century Fox Casting.
Danny has taken over 4000 pitches, been a judge for several major contests, and has written over 250 articles on writing for numerous websites and publications including ScriptMag.
